The integration provides the necessary provisions to bring all data from DOT, Kusama and their associated system chains and parachains into Dune’s powerful analysis tools.
Dune, a leading crypto data visualization platform, has partnered with Colorful Notion, an experienced indexer and data provider in the Polkadot (DOT) ecosystem. This collaboration marks a new era of accessibility and understanding for Polkadot users, as they can now observe detailed analysis of the blockchain on Dune, as well as Kusama (KSM), often described as DOT’s wild counterpart. cousin).

As a result, users can now access Polkadot and Kusama’s relay chains, as well as AssetHub for DOT, Astar, Bifrost, Hydradx, Interlay and Centrifuge parachains on the crypto data platform!
At the core of this collaboration is Colorful Notion’s understanding of the Polkadot ecosystem, which has been developed through more than two years of active participation. Their flagship project, substrate-etl, is a project developed by Colorful Notion, a data indexing tool specifically designed to process and store data from two blockchain networks, Polkadot and Kusama. The project covers two relay chains and over 70 indexed parachains.

On the platform, users can now explore previously inaccessible depths of on-chain functionality in the Polkadot and Kusama relay chains, as well as six selected parachains. This includes decoded Substrate block data tables, detailed snapshots of external transactions (blockchain transactions), calls, events, transfers and storage mappings. The data is updated hourly, providing unprecedented insight into the inner workings of these dynamic networks.

Dashboard demonstrates integration potential
To demonstrate the potential of this integration, the team at Colorful Notion created an initial dashboard showcasing Dune’s capabilities for Polkadot relay chains and selected parachains. These dashboards include Polkadot’s staking activity, which highlights how staking rewards are indexed, calculated, and finalized on the blockchain network, as well as factors that may affect reward rates. It also includes Polkadot’s public voting analysis, governance, Interlay, assetHub, and HydraDX, the largest decentralized exchange in the Polkadot ecosystem.
In summary, the Dune platform has integrated multiple important components in the Polkadot ecosystem, including Polkadot’s referendum voting analysis, the governance mechanism of the entire network, the cross-chain protocol Interlay, the asset information platform assetHub, and the Polkadot ecosystem.
